A band of clouds and overcast block most of this sunset over the Pacific Ocean, but some light makes it through and provides a nice "layered" sunset.
The San Francisco Bar Channel at night as seen from a rooftop near the SF VA Hospital in the Outer Richmond.
Flares can be seen in the upper-left hand side of the photo.
The same view as above, but just after the sun fell below the horizon.
Land's End is the rocky outcrop on the top left and the Cliff House is just around the corner.
A fiery sunset over the Pacific Ocean as seen from my trash chute in the Outer Richmond district.
A large ship and the Farrallon Islands are visible as small dots on the horizon.
Another view of this fiery sunset over the Pacific.
The ship and the Farrallons are more visible along the horizon.
A spectacular sunset over the Pacific Ocean as seen from a lookout over Baker Beach.
Mile Rock is the structure on the far right of the picture. On foggy days, it is a fog horn that can be heard for miles.
